Annual CIMS Symposium Returns To Clayton State For Third Year | News

The event’s opening day will also feature an industry panel hosting representatives from ADP, the Metro Atlanta Chamber, Intel, and more from 2 to 3 p.m.

The Symposium’s second day, March 28, will focus more on surrounding high school students, providing them with exposure to various STEM topics of study, discussions with Clayton State University faculty, lunch, a campus tour and more.

The event will also serve as a chance for those in the local industry to meet and network with upcoming graduates, who could one day become future workforce leaders.

Further reflecting the college’s incentive to bridge together the current and future workforces, the Symposium will also feature a trio of keynote speakers that span through both days of the event — Cobb County Commissioner Jerica Richardson, Google’s David Byrd, and archivist Shane Bell with Nara’s Subject Matter Expert (SME).

“When we talk to industry partners, they talk about how amazing the event was and how they were very impressed by our students,” said Assistant Mathematics Professor Louisa Catalano. “The students really like it because they get to connect with some of those business people, network and make connections to potentially help them get jobs.”
