FAYETTEVILLE, GA — Authorities are searching for a Fayetteville Walmart employee who is accused of opening fire inside the store, killing a 19-year-old man and injuring a 9-year-old girl.
Adrian Jelks, 19, is wanted for murder and aggravated assault in connection with the Friday shooting inside the entryway of the store, Fayetteville police said.
According to authorities, police were called to the store around 10 p.m. after receiving calls about shots fired. When they arrived, police said Jelks had already fled the scene in a vehicle that was later found abandoned.

Police said 19-year-old Antavius Holton of Riverdale died from injuries suffered in the shooting. The 9-year-old girl was struck by a stray bullet, police said, and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Additionally, police arrested 19-year-old Sandra Romero-Nunez and charged her with party to a crime for murder and aggravated assault. Authorities did not release details about her involvement in the shooting.

Fayetteville is located about 25 miles south of Atlanta.
