Godfrey sworn in as newest solicitor general for Coweta County | Arts & Community

Godfrey began her career as an assistant solicitor in the Coweta County Solicitor’s Office in 2006. She was promoted to chief assistant solicitor in 2012 and worked closely with Wisenbaker to develop and manage the office.

Over the years, she has received several accolades, including the 2022 Assistant Solicitor of the Year award from the Prosecuting Attorneys Council of Georgia.

Godfrey graduated from Charleston Southern University and received her law degree from the University of Georgia. After her husband completed his military service, Godfrey relocated to Georgia with him to be closer to his family.

She and Isaac have been married for 25 years and have three children who attend Coweta County Public Schools: Madeleine, 12, Isabelle, 10, and Ian, 7.

Over her 20 years in Coweta County, Godfrey has served on several local boards, including the Coweta Community Foundation, Newnan Coweta Bar Association and the Coweta Domestic Violence Task Force.

“Based on my experience and service to Coweta County for 17 years, I am hopeful to be given the opportunity to take on the role of solicitor general,” Godfrey said. “I am passionate about continuing my career as a prosecutor to further help our community and keep it safe.”
