Clayton County Board of Education Honors Stilwell Dance Team | News

Members of the dance team include Tierra Thomas, Benjamin Hayes, Cydnee Lockridge, Gabrielle Hewitt, Gabrielle Ward, Alyssa Mann, Jazmin Tanks, Eddison Toby, Kayla Raines, Sanaa Nelson, Kasi Bethea, Summer Worthy, Chelsea Adams, Camille Khatib, Tai’ Emerson, Amira Lewis, and Aamyrie Fondal. The team is coached by Brianna Smart.

Also honored at the March 4 meeting include:

♦ The 2024 Clayton County Public Schools Spelling Bee winners were recognized.

This year’s winners included James Pham (first, Adamson Middle School), Taj McNab (second, Kay Pace Elementary School of the Arts), Abigail Lavoie (third, Edmonds Elementary School), Nideya Suero (fourth, Rex Mill Middle School) and Zoe Eafford (fifth, Smith Elementary School).

♦ The School Board and superintendent recognized the district’s social workers in honor of National School Social Work Week, March 3 to 9.

♦ Barbara “BJ” Johnson was honored upon her retirement as a CCPS School Bus Driver since 1967.

During her 56-year career, Johnson delivered tens of thousands of Clayton County children to and from school, driving nearly 1 million miles on the roads of Clayton County and the surrounding metro area.
