County to host free health and wellness event | Douglasville Sentinel

The event will feature information, resources, and free services for the community.

It will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free to the public. 

The ‘Health and Wellness Exchange’ will provide attendees with information and connect them to services within the community. Attendees can expect to receive information on a variety of health-related prevention and awareness topics, along with general family and healthy living resources.

The event will offer free services such as flu and COVID-19 vaccines, BMI and blood pressure wellness checks, in addition to other services.

 Participating organizations include Cobb & Douglas Public Health, Wholesome Wave Georgia, Sheltering Arms, Atlanta Community Food Bank, Douglas County Community Service Board, Helping Mamas, The Never Alone Clubhouse, and Peach State Health Plan.

“We’re excited to bring together our community for a day focused on health and wellness,” said Image Stewart, Douglas County Government External Affairs Coordinator and Program Manager of KDCB. “This event underscores our commitment to fostering a vibrant and resilient community while providing resources and knowledge to benefit the residents of Douglas County.”

The first 200 families in attendance will receive a complimentary box of fruits and vegetables.
