Coweta Street Park Initiative honors Laura Dzwigalski | Arts & Community

“Through the generosity of family, friends and her beloved community, Laura is now part of making the park a reality,” said a member of Laura’s family, according to Susan Stitt of the Senoia Area Historical Society.

According to the Coweta Street Park Initiative website, the current Coweta Street Park was built decades ago along with the area’s housing and urban development homes.

It hasn’t received any significant modifications or upgrades since. Currently, the park has limited ADA-accessible areas and no ADA-accessible playground equipment.

According to the website, the Coweta Street Park initiative will transform an existing public space within the city of Senoia, creating an innovative, welcoming and accessible green space for people of all ages and economic statuses.

According to Dzwigalski’s obituary, Laura found a family and home in Senoia and the surrounding areas where she continually built a better community through many organizations and events.

Dzwigalski was a member of numerous local organizations, including the Optimist Club of Senoia, the Board of Promise Place, Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, American Business Women’s Association McIntosh Chapter, The Garden Club of Senoia, the Choir of Senoia United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, 100 Who Care, Senoia Area Historical Society and the Business Women of Fayette and Coweta.
