For centuries, Catholic churches around the world have marked Good Friday with the Stages of the Cross, a moving recreation of Christ’s last day on earth.
Members of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Douglasville observed the tradition Friday — Good Friday for Christians. About 300 parishioners prayed at the 14 Stations of the Cross, which depict specific events in Christ’s final day — from his condemnation through his journey to Golgotha, where he was crucified, to his body being laid in the tomb. This is the 18th year the church has held an observance.
