Two people were taken to the hospital Monday morning following a 2-vehicle wreck on GA 365 in Alto.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, a GMC Yukon turned onto GA 365 South from Alto-Mud Creek Road. The Yukon failed to yield and was rear-ended by a southbound Chevrolet Silverado.
After impact, the Yukon traveled off the highway’s right shoulder and struck a tree. The pickup truck crossed the median and came to an uncontrolled rest in the northbound travel lanes of GA 365.
Troopers say 52-year-old Bunny Jurnigan of Habersham County was driving the Yukon. They cited her for a seatbelt violation and failure to yield.
31-year-old Charles Fowler of Cleveland was driving the Silverado. The wreck injured him and Jurnigan. Ambulances transported both drivers to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with possible minor injuries.
The wreck occurred around 7:15 a.m., snarling highway traffic in both directions during the Monday morning commute.
